Well, Anita, I think I would blog. I know there are plenty of reasons not to blog (good chance I'd put my foot in my mouth, it's a time suck, there are lots of creeps roaming the internet, etc.), but I might be able to help a few writers and blogs are fun, so I'd do it. I'd limit posts with personal info, though (even with my warehouse of guns, military-trained-assasin husband, alarm system, black belt and two large dogs, you can never be too sure) and I'd avoid all political references (because there's just no point in talking politics in a work-related blog). And that's my answer.
I would blog, yes. I think it helps writers relate to you on a more personal level. But I would keep it very professional, and I would include all information to submit work. I like it when agents do that - the more places they put that information, the better. Maybe I'm wrong? I don't know. I'm not an agent, but I love blogging, so if I was one, I'm sure I'd be in blogland.
I would. It is a tool that creates a 'personability' towards the writing public as well as enabling clients to learn more about the way your mind works.
Yes. But I would undoubtedly end up talking about things completely unrelated to agenting. My unhealthy obsession with new flavors of Pringles, for example.
Yes. We all blog as it is. Why would we stop because our job changed. :)
I'd like to know if there are agents who have or wanted to blog but their agency doesn't want them to.
Yes. It's a way for people to get to know me on a personal and professional level.
I really appreciate the agents who blog, but I completely understand reasons for not blogging, too. Agents who blog open themselves up to all sorts of junk.
