On Twitter, I follow a ton of writers and a few agents and editors. This is good fun and helps me keep track of what's going on in blog friends' lives and publishing. Buuut, I think it's also fun (and a good idea) for writers to follow other people, too. Expand our minds. Think outside the books. So I follow Bob from THE BIGGEST LOSER. And Kelly Ripa. And AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN. And several other non-writing related peeps. It's refreshing to read and learn about something that has absolutely nothing to do with writing. And after I read the tweets, I go write. :)
Let me know if you're following someone who's just out-of-this-world cool. (besides me) (hah)

I follow a slew of non-writers. The Detroit Tigers, The Decemberists, PBR... I suppose you're more asking about ppl and not brands. Hm...
I follow Kanye West.
I follow some CNN anchors, some musicians, a couple of poker players, my son, and now you!
My lists are usually friends, writer/readers, and indie artists and crafters - with a few famous people (mostly comedians because Twitter is where I go when I need a break from serious stuff) and musicians I love thrown in. I have to keep things organized - SO glad Twitter has lists! :)
JONATHON: Yeah, I follow a couple brands, too. Like The Gap...I was really disappointed with their Black Friday sale, btw. They advertised things on Twitter that did NOT happen at my Gap. Anyway...:) Will think about some sports. Thanks!
CHARLIE: Oh! I'll go find you. Thanks! And poker players? That sounds fun.
MARISA: Uh. Twitter has lists? Will go figure that out. Thanks!
Wait...Bob's on Twitter? Where the hell have I been?!
JOSHUA: Yeah! His tweets aren't ALWAYS fun, but he's turned me on to some stuff...eating a lot of oatmeal now, for example.
I'm only just entering this wonderful virtual world of writers and pretty much all of the blogs etc. I've found so far are US-based.
Have you guys heard of Stephen Fry? Quintessentially English, a complete genius and his tweets are way over my head most of the time, but incredibly cool!
SALLY: Thanks! I'll go check him out. And welcome to the world of writers.
America's Test Kitchen rocks. I subscribe to Cook's Illustrated and have learned more about cooking through that organization than through 11 years of restaurant work.
I don't tweet, but I love America's Test Kitchen!
RICK & SARAH: I know! America's Test Kitchen rocks. I've learned so much from it. And one time, they posted a link to a recipe for a layer cake on Twitter. I tweeted back that I wouldn't try it because of my high altitude. After a couple tweets back and forth with someone in the kitchen, they emailed me high altitude directions. Awesome.
Good idea - I'll find some time to organize my lists over the Xmas break :)
JEMI: Hmm...maybe I should ask for your list for Christmas. :)
